Someone's falling down on the job.

Ok, ok, so I'm not blogging and you're not noticing, which works out well for both of us, doesn't it? Anyway, I have a good reason. My little munchkin niece has come to live with us while her parents fight George W.'s Middle Eastern morass. (Silly me, I thought all this time he was saying it was a war on "terra." Turns out, I think, that what he's wanting to fight is a war on terrorISM. That's an Andover education for you.)

Anyway, I brought her home with me late last Saturday night and Lisa left early Sunday morning for an out-of-town meeting all week. She'll be home tomorrow, and none of us could be any happier. Lisa's been having to deal with corporate politics all week, and having been reprimanded for booking a plane ticket herself, then submitting it for reimbursement, instead of using corporate travel. "It'd be cheaper with corporate travel," she was told. Bullshit, I say. Corporate travel booked a plane ticket for her to this meeting and paid $600 round trip; said meeting is being held 5 hours up the road, and flights can almost always be had for $250 or less round trip. Anyway, she'll be glad to get home, and we'll be glad to see her.

Then, next weekend we fly to St. Louis to look for a home in our new city, with baby in tow. Sounds like fun, doesn't it? You know you're jealous.

Sadly, I am jealous. We borrow babies at any time under any condition. But I also know that this must be hard for you in so many ways. Good luck getting through it all. We want to hear "practice mommy" stories!

I noticed, but of course was too polite to say anything.

You know, all this time, I thought the big Dubya Dumbass was saying "war on Tara," which made me think, "What did Scarlett O'Hara ever do to you?"

See you in a few days!
